HOMEMADE LAVENDER SOAP (WITHOUT LYE)
Ingredients:
1lb goat’s milk melt and pour soap base
Dried lavender buds (optional, for decoration)
What You’ll Need
What to Do
1.Begin by cutting the goat’s milk soap base into small cubes and placing them in a microwave-safe bowl. I placed my soap cubes in a glass measuring cup.
2. Microwave the soap base in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until fully melted and smooth. You could also melt the soap in a double boiler on the stove.
3. Once melted, add 20-30 drops of lavender essential oil to the soap base and stir gently to ensure even distribution. If you desire a gentle lavender hue, add a few drops of purple soap colorant to the mixture and stir until well blended. Adjust the colour according to your preference. You could also add some dried lavender buds as well.
4. If you wish to add a decorative touch, sprinkle dried lavender buds into the soap mold before you pour the soap. Then carefully pour the lavender-scented soap mixture into soap molds, filling them to the brim.
TIP- If you put the dried lavender buds in the mold first, be sure to pour the soap very slowly into the mold. This will allow the buds to stay at the bottom of the mold so they give a decorative look once they come out of the mold.
5. Set the mold aside and allow to cool and harden for several hours or overnight. Then remove the bars by gently pressing on the bottom of the mold, Your homemade Goat’s Milk Soap is now ready to use or gift! You can’t get much easier than that.
