2 cups epsom salt or magnesium bath flakes

15-20 drops lavender essential oil

Horses are MUCH more sensitive to essential oils than humans.

Never force an essential oil on a horse

Allow a horse to choose and breathe what they need and the length of time they need with a particular oil offering only about once per week unless their health or oestrus dictates otherwise.

If they breathe in 3-4 oils in a session, stop and offer others another day as more in one session will overwhelm the horse.

The horses’ choice may not always be what you would have chosen.

Never put an oil on a horses’ skin or allow them to ingest an oil unless advised to do so by a health care practitioner. 

Citrus oils can burn the skin in sunlight.

Essential oils are not a replacement for traditional medicine.

Analgesic, antiseptic, anti-anxiety, stimulates healing, expectorant, insect repellent, relieves breathing difficulties, general pain and stress relief, soothes and nurtures frazzled horses.

Lavender oil can be safe for dogs when used correctly and in moderation. However, it can be toxic to dogs in high concentrations or when ingested in large amounts. It is important to use lavender oil responsibly and always consult with a veterinarian before using it on your dog.

To diffuse in a traditional burner, simply fill dish with water and add a few drops of oil on top before lighting the candle. For electrical fragrancers, follow instructions given by the manual. For massage: dilute in a carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. Add a few drops to a handkerchief or inhale directly from the bottle if you are on the go. Dilute in distilled water and pour into spray bottle for an all-natural room fragrancer.

You may find that Lavender blends particularly well with cedarwood, clary sage, geranium, pine, nutmeg and all the citrus oils but it will blend happily with pretty much any oil you care to try it with.

Add a few drops to a cotton pad and place under pillow to help induce relaxation and promote a good night's sleep. Enjoy 3-4 drops added to a warm bath to help you de-stress and revive. Dilute to a maximum of 1% in a base lotion or cream to use with oily and congested skins as well as helping soothe irritated skin. Dilute to a maximum of 1% in a carrier oil and enjoy as part of a rejuvenating and relaxing massage. .

Traditional European folk remedy used to comfort the stomach, as a cosmetic water, an insect repellent, to scent linen and as an all purpose soothing and comforting oil.
